The Mbonweh Women Development Association implements a set of strategic programs designed to empower women, children, youth, and indigenous communities across Cameroon. Each program addresses key development challenges and provides sustainable, long-term solutions while fostering community resilience, inclusion, and opportunity.

Nursery & Primary Education

Building and Operating Nursery and Primary Schools
Education is the foundation for personal growth and community development. Through this program, we establish and operate nursery and primary schools in underserved communities. Our schools provide safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environments, equipped with trained teachers, essential learning materials, and structured curricula. By focusing on early childhood development, we give children the skills, confidence, and knowledge necessary to succeed academically and socially.

Secondary, Vocational Schools & Scholarships

Building Secondary, Vocational Schools and Offering Scholarships to Vulnerable Children

Continuing education beyond primary school is critical, yet many vulnerable children, especially girls, face barriers to secondary education. This program supports children by building secondary and vocational schools and providing scholarships to ensure they can stay in school. Alongside academic learning, students gain practical skills, vocational training, and mentorship that prepare them for higher education, employment, or entrepreneurship. This initiative empowers young people to become active, productive, and confident members of their communities.

Agricultural & Climate Resilience Support

Providing Agricultural and Climate Change Resilience Skills, Empowerment, and Sustainability Support to Rural and Indigenous Communities

Rural and indigenous communities depend heavily on agriculture, yet climate change, land degradation, and limited access to resources often threaten livelihoods. This program equips communities with climate-smart agricultural practices, sustainable farming techniques, and resilience skills. Participants learn how to adapt to environmental changes, improve crop productivity, and manage natural resources responsibly. By promoting sustainable livelihoods and environmental stewardship, we help communities achieve economic stability and food security.

Humanitarian Assistance

Providing Humanitarian Assistance

Emergencies such as natural disasters, conflicts, or economic crises can leave communities vulnerable. This program delivers immediate humanitarian support to meet basic needs, including food, clean water, shelter, clothing, and healthcare. We focus on restoring stability and dignity for affected families while ensuring equitable access to relief services. By responding quickly and effectively, we help communities recover and rebuild their lives with hope and resilience.

Peacebuilding & Psychosocial Support

Promoting Peacebuilding and Providing Psychosocial Support to Affected Communities

Conflict, trauma, and displacement disrupt communities and individual wellbeing. This program fosters peacebuilding and social cohesion through community dialogues, conflict resolution initiatives, and psychosocial support services. By working with affected individuals and groups, we help communities recover from trauma, strengthen resilience, and promote reconciliation. Our approach empowers communities to resolve conflicts peacefully and create safer, more harmonious environments for all members.

Why Our Programs Matter

Each program is carefully designed to address systemic challenges while producing measurable impact. By focusing on education, economic empowerment, sustainable livelihoods, humanitarian relief, and social cohesion, Mbonweh Women Development Association enables communities to move from vulnerability toward opportunity, dignity, and self-reliance.

Together, our programs create a holistic approach to community development that strengthens families, protects vulnerable populations, and empowers women to lead lasting change.
